Today Vision Correction Listens

iVis ray tracing refers to a sophisticated, patent-protected, customized corneal reshaping technology utilized by the iVis 4D Suite to treat irregular corneas (such as in Keratoconus) by generating high-resolution 3D maps to guide precision laser ablation. Using the Precisio®2 tomographer and CIPTA® web software, this method calculates specific, patient-customized, transepithelial ablation profiles that optimize vision, minimize tissue consumption, and allow for remote surgical planning.

Key Components and Functionality.

Precisio 2 Tomographer: Uses a 30-micrometer blue laser slit, a 6D eye-tracker, and voice-driven, automatic acquisition to create detailed corneal elevation and thickness maps.

CIPTA® Web Planning: Software that receives data from the Precisio 2 to create custom ablation patterns, specifically designed to correct corneal irregularities and reduce higher-order aberrations.

iRes®2 Excimer Laser: Executes the treatment with high-speed (2 kHz) and a 350-micrometer spot, allowing for precise, non-contact corneal remodeling.

Benefits of iVis Ray Tracing.

Improved Visual Outcomes: Significant improvements in uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) and best spectacle-corrected visual acuity (BSCVA).

Customization: The technology enables a "patient-tailored" approach, crucial for treating conditions like Keratoconus, ensuring the treatment is specific to the patient's individual corneal shape.

Safety and Precision: The transepithelial approach (cTen®) combined with ray tracing reduces the risk of complications and preserves corneal tissue.

Remote Management: CIPTA® allows for the remote planning of these surgeries, which enhances access to care.
