CAIRS for Keratoconus adds corneal tissue to the Keratoconic cornea, but the real magic happens as the epithelium remodels just inside the area of added tissue (pink arrow below) to compensate for the increased localised corneal elevation. This regularises the curvature of the anterior cornea to improve corneal optics and vision.
