Customised CAIRS for KC, Post LASIK Ectasia and other Corneal Ectasias

In this video, Dr Soosan Jacab's Customised CAIRS is described. This Tissue Addition Technology (or Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segment - 'CAIRS') for Keratoconus is a procedure which she first introduced in 2015. She then went on to further develop the technique by introducing the closer bespoke tailoring of the CAIRS segment to each individual Keratoconic patient's eyes.

This customisation for each Keratoconic cornea helps to take the results of CAIRS even higher giving improvement in uncorrected and best corrected visual acuity, decreasing higher order aberrations as well as improving topography and decreasing the cone. This technique can also be used to great effect for other causes of cornea ectasia, including post LASIK ectasia.
